Students

GEOS is an international organization that recruits students from many countries. Currently we have students from twenty different countries. In this environment students are encouraged to speak English which improves their skills at a faster pace.  We are an adult english school, catering for students 18 years and over.  The only exception being study tour groups who form their own class

Facilities

GEOS Melbourne College of English use the latest methods, materials and equipment. Our classrooms are clean and comfortable and there is an Independent Learning Centre where you can study and practise your language skills using computers with both visual and audio software, tape recorders, televisions and videos.

The Student Common Room is a great place to mix with other students from different countries.

Teachers

Rachel Mosel: Director of Studies

I have been fortunate enough to work at a number of different language schools in many countries during my career as an English teacher and GEOS Melbourne is definitely the most professional and enjoyable of all these experiences. All the staff really care about the welfare and development of the students and create a caring environment in which students thrive. I feel very lucky to be part of the GEOS team.

Courtney Barrett: Senior Teacher

I really enjoy teaching English. It's a pleasure meeting so many new and interesting people every day. I have taught in central Europe for four years, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

David Radford: Senior Teacher

After teaching in Thailand for 2 years, I started at GEOS in 2005.  It’s a fantastic place to work, with great colleagues and fun students.  I think it’s the combination of serious study and fun that makes GEOS a great place to be.

Cameron Winton: ILC Co-ordinator

I have taught English in Spain, and now for GEOS for over 2 years. It is the most enjoyable, and professional school I have worked in.

My role in the ILC is to ensure each student gets personalised instruction, and to provide great resources for them to improve their English skills.

Chelsea Bernal: Teacher/Academic Professional Development Co-ordinator

I became an English teacher because I was looking for something different.  I’ve stayed an English teacher because it’s such an interesting field filled with fantastic opportunities for finding out about cultures from all over the world.  Working at GEOS is perfect for this because of the excellent range of nationalities.  Teaching here is a little like travelling to a different country each day.

Staff

Natalie Reddy: General Manager

Having taught English and managed ESL marketing around the globe I am pleased to be part of the professional and caring team at GEOS Melbourne where students come first.  Australia is a wonderful place to learn English and develop exciting career and personal goals that may otherwise be unavailable in other parts of the world.

With a background in business, ESL and management across institutions ranging from universities to small schools in both the public and private sectors I came to GEOS to be part of a culture of excellence in teaching and student support that is truly unique.

I look forward to seeing you at GEOS!

Jade Harris: Marketing Manager

I moved to Melbourne from New Zealand in 2005.  Melbourne is a fantastic city with many festivals and events throughout the year.  I have lived and studied overseas so understand what it is like to be an international student.  All the staff at GEOS Melbourne are here to help you.

Junka Nikahara: Japanese Marketing Co-ordinator

Hi all, my name is Junka. I really love living here in Melbourne and working at this school.  The staff are all kind and friendly so it’s a really comfortable place to study.  I am from Sapporo, Hokkaido but have studied in America so I understand how hard it is to live in another country.  You will have lots of friends from all over the world here at GEOS Melbourne.  Studying English helps you to communicate with these new friends!

Anne Juel Tinkler: Marketing Officer

I am originally from Denmark but I grew up in Scotland and Ireland. I have studied in Scotland and Spain so I have also been an International student. I moved to Melbourne 2 years ago and I feel very much at home here in Melbourne. GEOS Melbourne, is the friendliest place I have ever worked and I very much look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Okkyoung Hong: Office Manager/Registrar

I enjoy working with people in my role as Registrar. Now I live in Melbourne and it is great to be in such a cosmopolitan, multi-cultural city. I have also lived in other countries including Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and New Zealand. I have found the best way to learn a language is to live in that country and learn about its culture as well.

Nadia Grubrina: Accounts Administrator

I used to work at reception but am now the Accounts Administrator.  I am originally from the Ukraine but also speak Russian and Spanish.  We will do our best to help you while you are studying at GEOS Melbourne.

Mauricio Ballen: Admin & Academic Assistant

Hi There! I’m Mauricio (Mao). I’m from Colombia and I'm really happy being part of the GEOS team, where my whole Australian adventure started. Yes! I used to study here too. After that I went to RMIT University as an International student. I love this vibrant city and all the outdoor sports anyone can practice here. See you around!

Vanessa Bean: Homestay Co-ordinator

I grew up in Melbourne and am passionate about my hometown. I have lived in other places, but I love Melbourne the most because I keep discovering new things. I love meeting people from all over the world, they always have interesting stories and there is always something to learn. I look forward to greeting you and helping you with any enquiries you may have about GEOS or our fantastic city.
